power of belief

many of us in life have been encouraged with the idea that “you can do whatever you put your mind to” and that anything is possible with hard work.
this mentality is good in intention and nature because some of the most successful people in life obtained success and wealth by adopting this mantra.
in a sense, that’s why having belief is so important. the power of belief is what propels someone to actions, lifestyles, habits, changes, and discipline.
of course, this does come with some caveat. for example, a teenager can love basketball and believe he can one day make it to the nba. statistically though, this isn’t realistic as not all aspiring hoopers make the league.
the point im trying to get at ultimately is that everyone should maximize the power of belief with a good dosage of being realistic.
maybe you have some bad lifestyle choices, habits, and addictions and these things hamper your overall life.
well by having belief that your life can get better without these aforementioned things being a part of your routines, only then can you develop willpower and discipline to change or live a new lifestyle.
maybe you dont believe you can overcome some of your vices and addictions. hence, this is why you stay addicted or never break out of the cycle.
maybe you dont believe life can be better without xyz things in your life. hence, this is why your xyz things remain in your life.
maybe you dont believe you can better your life. hence, this is why you feel reluctant to take the measures and actions to better your life because you see them as pointless endeavors that won’t work.
whoever is reading this – wherever you are in life… i encourage you to have belief.
the power that comes with it is so powerful because the belief in whatever will ignite and propel your set of actions, lifestyle, habits, routines, training, studying, and discipline.
and as you believe, you move differently. you live more empowered than if you didnt have belief.
you have hope. you have meaning. you have purpose. you have a goal to pursue or chase.
believe that life will work out for you if you put in the effort and energy to things you want to work out well.
believe that the universe will throw you a bone or conspire in your favor if you go about your responsibilities in the right manner.
believe that if you make sacrifices and are disciplined and striving, then you will reap the rewards of your perseverance.

changes in me as ive gotten older

as people, i believe we are constantly changing.
whether its new friendships, a new job/career, etc, we are always adapting and morphing into our current state of being.
i just wanted to share a multitude of changes that i personally underwent as i kept living more and more life.
first major one is that im less self-absorbed
back in my 20s, a lot of things was centered around myself.
things like my friends have to care about me… people have to acknowledge that i am a great musician/artist… why does the girl i want not want me… am i making a difference in this world as a christian?
how can i get revenge to someone who wronged me? how can i get so and so to like me more? how can i be perceived as cool to others?
nowadays, im definitely more grounded in who I am as a person.
im a whole lot less demanding of what I want from others, and I iust care a whole lot less of how im perceived especially in the realm of whoever rocks with me.
cause i realized that none of that stuff matters.
i like living by the standard that the greatest service I can do unto myself is enjoying life and doing the things i want to do.
and no one can make me shy away from this statement – their approval, agenda, etc.
Another major change is I am a lot more calm.
I dont get volatile or aggressive when I overly drink. I dont have road rage anymore where the slightest incovenience pisses me off. I also dont feel the need to react to disrespect with disrespect (most of the time).
furthermore, i am more patient with others. people dont have to be perfect around me or be some idealized version I have of them. i dont take it personally if others are not a Christian nor if they don’t acknowledge God.
though it might initially, I dont get as nearly angry, hurt, or disappointed when people make mistakes or wrongs me.
I understand that its okay that people make mistake. I understand that not all people are kind and want to just have a fellowship that resembles the spirit of christ. i understand im not that significant to some people and that they dont have to care for me nor spend time with me.
one of the last major changes is i like having diversity and variety and my palette is more open-minded.
i used to only strictly listen to rap music and hiphop artists (most of them being male).
now? i like listening to all kinds of genre from alternative indie rock to female pop artists, korean music, and more.
this likening of diversity and variety stretches out to all facets and aspects of life, which have been a blessing.
the library of games i play varies and isnt just some online sports game (nba 2k) and fps like Overwatch or Call of Duty. im actually checking out a bunch of games with unique stories, cast of characters, art design, and more.
this likening of diversity and variety even goes for diet. enjoying healthy options like vegetables, yoplait, avocado, kimchi, unsweetened ice tea, fruits, etc are all somewhat surprising to me because younger me would avoid lot of food options that are actually really beneficial to the body.
younger me would just consume burgers, pizza, carne asada fries, etc that are all far from healthy.
the last change i want to highlight is im less harsh towards myself.
younger me would always compare my current reality to my dream life and I would guilt trip myself hard if i wasnt gaining momentum towards my dream life.
younger me pursued success and thought my life would hold more meaning if i made something of myself.
i forgave myself for not being married and not having kids.
i forgave myself for not making a lot or money.
i forgave myself for still living at my parents.
i forgave myself for not making it big-time as a musician myself.
Overall the changes have been great. i am less self-absorbed. I am less reactive towards others and take things less personally.
i am more empathetic, kind, patient, and less judgemental.
at this stage, i know what i like and what i dislike, and i just stick with what makes me happy. and i also let others apply this to themselves without judgement.
and i like the current version of me. he’s less insecure, and more comfortable in his own skin.
and i like to think it was only because I wasn’t like this in the past that I get to be like this in my current present.
its like all the self-care, self-love, shadow work, inner healing did do their thing and I came to become a more calm, less judgemental, and well-rounded person.

The Great Migration Back Theory

America is composed of many generations of immigrants all throughtout various places in the country.
Sometimes I think… would a great migration back actually benefit the world?
I think about how if I make a lot of financial currency in USD, then I can now liquidate that to help me start businesses in Korea (leasing office spaces is dirt cheap out there).
If I raise children with a fortunate significant other/partner, then I can encourage him or her to become a diplomat that improves US, Korea, and other UN countries.
I think about stuff like that from time to time.
I think about how so many influences of America I want to transpose onto the Korean population whether it be basketball, chess, or music production.
Its like… would the great migration back hurt or help me?
And in a much broader sense, can immigrants migrating back to their motherland actually benefit the world?
